Summer 2017 Update -Initiative for a Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Region

The Future of Howe Sound Society (FHSS) is encouraged by the growing support for Howe Sound to be designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Region. Since this initiative began in 2016, we have provided information in our July, 2016, November, 2016 and March 2017 newsletters.

The Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative organization is now registered as a Society. This status enables the organization to apply for grants and other funding for their efforts towards the nomination application to UNESCO Man and the Biosphere program. The organization now has its own website – and Facebook page where information and news on the progress of the initiative will be continually updated.
