Proposed Projects Update

Brief overview of the various industrial projects proposed for Howe Sound at the start of 2016. Re-industrialization of the sound is being closely watched by those that believe the recovery of Howe Sound's ecosystem must be protected for current and future generations.

New MP says she "expects our riding to be as vocal as it always is,” “I don’t think it’s going to be easy, but it’s something we need to do, and I am prepared to take a leadership role in that regard.”

The Federal election is upon us and Howe Sound has been on people's minds during this election.

The District of Squamish is hosting elected officials, government staff, presenters and various representatives of non-profit organizations on Friday October 16th, 2015.

Ancient glass sponge reefs require unique conditions, which may explain their global rarity. Howe Sound provides those unique conditions.

July 11th 2015, was an overcast day, a dramatic backdrop for the gathering of boats at the south end of Bowyer Island in Howe Sound to protest the proposed Woodfibre LNG project.

The future of Woodfibre LNG will be in our minds long past the summer of 2015 should the 25 conditions of the Squamish First Nation outlined on June 26th be met by Woodfibre LNG.
