The fate of Howe Sound will in large part be determined by who wins the election on May 14th. The next four years could bring significant change to Howe Sound based on the policies of the party elected. Unless the next government commits to undertake a plan to protect our natural capital we could see non-renewable heavy industry, such as the proposed Burnco gravel mine at McNab Creek and an LNG facility in Howe Sound.
If protecting this unique fjord is important to you keep these issues in mind when you cast your ballot. While there is still an opportunity ensure your candidates are aware of how special Howe Sound is and the urgent need for a comprehensive management plan.
