The Fall 2017 meeting of the Howe Sound Community Forum will take place Friday, October 13th at Camp Elphinstone from 10:30-3:00.  Hosts for this meeting are SCRD Vice Chair Frank Mauro and Director Ian Winn, Area F West Howe Sound.

The meeting follows the May 5th, 2017 meeting hosted by the Village of Lions Bay.

The agenda for the meeting will include presentations intended to generate dialogue among the elected representatives regarding current and future projects, and ongoing studies related to the Howe Sound region.  An update on the Ocean Watch Action Plan Task Force, initiated following the previous forum will be presented by the elected officials participating.

Camp Elphinstone is an excellent venue for learning and dialogue and has been home to the Sea-to-Sky Outdoor School for Sustainability Education for many years.  The various locations of the forums provide attendees an opportunity to learn about Howe Sound from different perspectives.

The purpose is to provide a forum for local governments, Regional Districts and First Nations discussion to maintain and enhance the economic, environmental, cultural and social well being of the Howe Sound for the benefit of present and future generations.

Members include: Squamish Nation – District of West Vancouver – Village of Lions Bay – Town of Gibsons – Resort Municipality of Whistler – Village of Pemberton – Bowen Island Municipality – Gambier Island Local Trust – District of Squamish – Metro Vancouver – Sunshine Coast Regional District -Squamish Lillooet Regional District.
