kayakThe official opening of the Sea to Sky Marine Trail will take place in the month of June, 2015.  Once the trail is officially opened, detailed maps and information will be available for kayakers who will now be able to enjoy the Sea to Sky Marine Trail that stretches from Horseshoe Bay to Squamish on the water.  It is approximately 40 kilometres directly, but longer if you visited all the new campsites along the way.

BC Marine Trails, Sea to Sky Marine Trail, Squamish Nation and other stakeholders worked with Recreational Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC), a division of the provincial government to develop the trail as described in the Sea to Sky Marine Trail website.

This is an exciting new tourism and recreational development for Howe Sound.   The trail offers more opportunity for kayakers to view the ragged snow-capped mountains, steep shorelines exciting wildlife and iridescent waters.

Celebrations are taking place in the afternoon on Sunday June 14th at Nexon Lands on the waterfront in Squamish and on Sunday June 28th in Gibsons.   Squamish Nation will participate in officially opening the trail.
