Inspired by living on Bowen Island, award-winning novelist Pauline Le Bel has written Whale in the Door: A Community Unites to Protect BC’s Howe Sound.

Quoting Caitlen Press “The book invites readers into a story of biological resilience as a community struggles to shape a vision for its future”.  Weaving stories from interviews with Squamish Nation members, Pauline gives a modern interpretation that broadens our understanding and the motivation of many to protect Howe Sound.

Pauline’s book is the latest about the region since Around the Sound – a History of Howe Sound-Whistler by Doreen Armitage was published in 2001.
