There can be no argument that Howe Sound is an awesome place, which is why there is growing number of people stepping up to defend and protect the values that make it so special.

In May, 2014 the Sea-to-Sky Gondola will commence operations just south of Squamish.  This attraction has just been recognized as a top 5 Canadian Tourism destination for this summer!

Orca whales and a pod of 200 dolphins were putting on a supernatural show in Howe Sound recently as they came to feed on herring.  This ability to watch these mammals in their natural environment is priceless and why many media outlets report on these events.

IMG_8410z2_smIMG_8410z2The T.V. and Film industry regularly feature Howe Sound, even the B.C. Lotto Corp. saw it fit to use footage from this drive for one of their Lotto 6/49 commercials, as mentioned in a recent letter to the editor of the North Shore News by a Squamish resident.

The local governments around Howe Sound know this area is special and those that live, work and play can participate in the future planning at the local level.  But the future use of the lands governed by the Province of B.C., the waters governed by the Federal Government and Squamish Nation land are unclear and many wonder if the decision makers understand Howe Sound or come to experience the awesomeness.

The Future of Howe Sound Society has a standing invitation for any elected official, media, Squamish Nation member or government staff to join us on the water by boat for a tour.  With no cost to the taxpayer we welcome the opportunity to share the awesomeness of Howe Sound.
