In response to the Howe Sound local government’s request to the Province to enter into planning for Howe Sound, Provincial staff attended the January 14th Howe Sound Community Forum to introduce the Cumulative Effects Framework as a possible process that could lead to a plan. To better understand the Framework, Provincial staff were invited back to provide more information and answers to questions. This interactive Webinar will also be an opportunity for more people to be introduced to the Framework. QA following HSCF meeting on 2014-01-14
Facilitator Susan Abs will present draft objectives and agenda for the Visions and Values workshop to be held May 2nd will invite questions and discussion. Forum members agreed that a useful next step would be to hold a “Visions and Values Workshop” to show continued local commitment and leadership, and support the request for senior government collaboration and resources in the coming fiscal year.
The aim of the workshop is to identify common values and directions as a foundation for further collaboration, possibly using the Cumulative Effects Framework and other tools. Discussions will build on the results of the April 2013 “Future of Howe Sound Forum”, and on current planning and management initiatives in the area.
The Howe Sound Community Forum, a forum for local governments, will be invited to comment on draft objectives and agenda for the Visions and Values workshop scheduled for Friday May 2nd.
Observers can join the webinar but given the limited time, questions and comments will be taken live from local government officials and staff. All interested parties are welcome to email questions and comments to Howesoundcommunityforum@gmail.com before and after the Forum . The Webinar will be recorded for viewing after the February 21st. All you need to participate is a Windows or Mac computer, Internet connection (broadband is best), microphone and speakers (built-in or USB headset).
