There are a number of good reasons to be close to Howe Sound this summer. Besides the 45 fun things to do in Howe Sound shown in the video produced last summer by 15 year old Chris Dietrich there is now the Sea to Sky Gondola to visit.
Saturday June 21st, “Save the Sound Summer Solstice Concert” takes place at the Cliffside Pub in Squamish. Thank you to Squamish Based Will Ross Band and Bowen Island based band Walk on Dead for initiating and hosting this fundraiser. Proceeds go to Future of Howe Sound Society, Gambier Island Conservancy and Squamish River Watershed Society. Purchase tickets soon.
Look for the Future of Howe Sound this summer at various venues and events that will be posted on our website. Stay tuned for another
S.O.S. Rendezvous on the water being planned for July or August.
The 30 day public comment period for the Woodfibre LNG project runs June 12-July 11th and possibly the comment period for the Burnco Aggregate Mine application could be announced. These public comment periods are very important as there are only two opportunities during the official environmental assessment process. We will keep you informed as soon as we know.
Donations are always welcome and we thank those that have contributed to our ongoing efforts advocating for Howe Sound.
