Attending vessels please act responsibly while remaining a safe and reasonable distance from the Breakwaters at Ekins Point. For safety and liability reasons non-member vessels or visitors cannot be accommodated on the breakwaters or docks.

Deadline to Have Your Say July 27th

After hosting a number of opportunities for the public to become informed about the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Experiment in Howe Sound at Woodfibre, we now urge people to submit their comments on line to the BC Environmental Assessment Office.  We heard from Scott Bailey, Executive Project Director and Alanya Smith, Project Manager, who flew in on behalf of the BCEAO to attend the information meeting our Society hosted at the West Vancouver Public Library on July 8th, public are invited to “fill their boots” with comments.

July 24 & 25 Gambier Woodlots

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is hosting two public information sessions about the woodlots proposed for Gambier Island.

In response to the comments received from the public, the Ministry  prepared a Gambier Island Information Package which will be further explained at the meeting.  The Ministry believes the two sessions will serve to better inform the stakeholders about the process prior to carrying out the next steps of the Woodlot tenures.

Please attend to learn more and have a say – the future of the Wild Heart of Howe Sound is at risk.
